Opak started in 1999 in Vevey when Arnaud Sponar joined Julien Grandjean to create their really own music style, putting together a blend of electronic, rock and experimental music into the fesh, cutting 21st flavour.

Month after month they created their first instrumental pieces: a mix of electronic, sequen- ces and samples, guitar and bass (Julien), jazzy drums, percussion, saxophone tapes and dicta- phones (Arnaud).

Gradually they found their common musical field and the elements of their sonic alchemy: Hypnotic atmospheres, energy of real instru- ments, experimentation on noise and sound.

In 2001, they started playing live, with a much successful line up which featured drums, guitar/bass and electronic tools, with additio- nal video visual/live projections by Thanassis Fouradoulas, gaining a solid reputation for their stunning and much entertraining live shows.

In March 2003, Opak released their first album, Prolog, which was followed by very good feed- backs from both fans and media alike, giving Opak a strong reputation for innovative and creative music.

Opak sees the release of their second album Two Sleepwalkers On A Thight-Rope, a much accomplished and excellent album putting together once again a creative and refreshing blend of electronic music and post-rock with an experimental attitude, the whole built up with sonic guitar drones, staccato and jazzy drums, digital manipulations, hypnotic bass lines, tones of samples, electronic soundscapes, to result in a much innovative album, done without any compromise, and bringing some fresh air in the Swiss scene.
