L’énigme du timbre

Searching for the sound of a river flowing under the ice, the cracking of the ice cap, capturing the rhythm of the tides under starry nights. This is what inspired the composition of the EP.
L’énigme du timbre is a journey through the great Quebec winter, immersing us in the journey of the water under the ice. From river to lake to river, this stroll lets us experience the different stages and modes of propagation of the vital liquid, passing through the infinitely small, until we discover it in the immensity of a united and total mass.
The use of microphonic and hydroponic sound recordings mixed with modular and granular synthesis served as a compositional basis for working around timbre, polyrhythm and natural forms retranscribed in different envelopes, reproducing complex and unique sounds. A hybridization of natural sound and synthesized sound While remaining in the spirit of Techno, Youg’s second EP features his own constantly evolving research into texture.
