Diggin’ In My Soul EP

The third instalment of the Steamy Pizza Box series takes us back to 90s US house, delivered fresh by the label boss himself, Valerio Vaudano. As the Italian producer likes, “Diggin’ In My Soul” EP, goes through different shades of house music where both past atmospheres and modern electronic music elements are blended perfectly.
As with previous label releases, all the tracks were produced using only a 90s sampler, with no computers involved. The EP opens with “The Sax Is Mine”, a 100% US garage-fuelled track in which an enthralling groove, a catchy vocal hook and NY vibes will bring you back to the golden days of the Palladium. The second track on the A-side is “Awww Get”: a pure stomper driven by Valerio’s signature ‘Lately bass’, punchy stabs, and vocal chops. The B-side kicks off with “Diggin’ In My Soul”, which has a Chicago attitude, a smooth groove, emotional pads, and a deep bassline. The B-side continues with “Nylon Feelings”, an unexpected move: here a relentless groove, a straight to the point Juno bassline, a bizarre organ riff and a pitched, mysterious speaker create a modern classic for late-night club parties. The icing on the cake that closes the EP is the ‘Clap-Appella’ version of “Nylon Feelings” – for all you djs out there!
