Once Again

2009 saw the release of Japanese producer Kuniyuki’s third album Walking In The Naked City. Both he and legendary jazz pianist Fumio Itabashi invited the Innervisions affilated hi-tech soul wizard Henrik Schwarz as vocalist. Itabashi said River is one of the best songs he has produced. Finally available on vinyl is “Once Again” (feat Henrik Schwarz – album version) a jazzy, soulful jam on the hi-tech tip as you’d expect from the trio – pure magic. On the flip, the epic free jazz journey “River” goes for eleven minutes and is a right frenzy, where Itabashi’s tremendous skills on the piano take on almost spiritual dimensions over Kuniyuki’s evocative and powerful arrangements beneath.
