Infinity

Bucharest’s Cristi Cons and Germany’s DeWalta have previously served up killer EPs on the latter’s Meander imprint (based out of Berlin) but this is their first collaboration and it works surprisingly well. Their unique sounds individually combine to rather interesting effect. The dubby and haunting “Within Space” cruises along gracefully with syncopated percussion, rolling bass and ethereal atmosphere. Second track on the flip entitled “Space Between” is more uptempo with its rolling bass, immersive pads and swing fuelled rhythm supporting a lovely spoken word narrative. There is also a dub version for those of you less keen on the monologue.
