Making his EPM debut is none other than Ben Long from UK techno mainstays, Space DJz, with a new solo EP entitled ‚ Toltec‚ .
‚ Toltec‚ , meaning ‚ artist‚ hails from an ancient language of Mexico.¬† Unlike the Aztecs or Mayans who came later, The Toltecs were a society of artists and spiritual seekers who came together more than two thousand years ago to establish cities and build Teotihuac√°n, north of Mexico City known as “the place where humans awake and remember their divinity.”
Taking his lead from this spiritual ethos, ‚ Toltec‚ sees Ben stepping away from the blistering techno of Space DJz, to a more minimal approach that‚ s thoughtful and melodic, as it builds from its soaring intro into a raw and grinding groove.¬† Providing a different slant are Detroit Grand Pubahs who dive straight in with a hefty kick and Wolfskuil‚ s Darko Esser with his punchy, drum-led remix.
