A Call From Heav.n EP
Sweely returns to his own Display imprint with A Call From Heav’n, a five-track EP built around a fully digital vision of club music.
Written and produced on the computer, the record dives into early-2000s internet culture, video-game moods, desktop sounds and screen-lit textures. It feels playful, precise, a little strange at times, with that colourful digital world that sits at the core of Display.
But while the music comes from the computer, the final object lands on vinyl. That contrast is part of the charm of DISPLAY002: computer-born club tracks, pressed onto wax, ready to leave the screen and hit the turntable.
Across the EP, Sweely moves through sharp house grooves, techy rhythms and bouncy club cuts, keeping things direct, fun and full of small details. From the catchy opener Mmmhh, Eazy to the title track A Call From Heav’n, then into the more playful flip side with Damn City, Go Steady and Samples, the record captures a bright, digital and dancefloor-focused version of his sound.
