The first release was numbered 162 after Johnny D's former address in Brooklyn.
Distributed by [l364355] from 1994 to 1996 (HS 162 to HS 202), [l287001] from 1996 to 2000 (HS 500+) and [l698094] from 2000 to 2004.
[l331677] reissued six releases on vinyl in 2014 to mark the label's 20th anniversary. Further reissues followed in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
A Record Store Day compilation was released in 2024 to mark the label's 30th anniversary.

The name and label design was inspired by early disco label Henry Street Records.
