It remains an anthem for apathetic underground house kids who spend hours, days and often full weekends lost in a woozy world of deep house and wonky tech. The deadpan vocal captured the day’s mood while drifting over a subtle, wavy groove amid
minimal synth that took house in a new direction. It was an unforgettable earworm that sat high in the end-of-year charts. The original has recently found its way back into the sets of both
seasoned selectors who knew it first time round, and a new wave of DJs who have succumbed to its gently narcotic charms and made it a classic all over again.

That still-magic original leads this new package before some choice remixers add fresh spice. First up are French duo and live innovators Aline Umber with new school star Krol. Their rework
brings more snap to the drums and infuses the mix with intense, sustained chords that keep you on edge. Though driving and physical, there is a real cosmic beauty in the unfurling melodies.
Next is Random Factor, aka UK electro wizard Carl Finlow. His remix keeps subtle synth motifs from the original and layers the filtered vocals into an elastic rhythm. Shimmering melodies add
expansive flourishes while gloopy bass brings playful bounce. Finally, Cleveland-born, New York-based Galcher Lustwerk brings his typically loose and analogue signature sound. There is a deftness to his dubby remix where thoughtful piano chords are draped over a rubbery bassline. The vocals are reworked with a charming, dreamy innocence that soothes, uplifts and hypnotises.

Benoit & Sergio’s ‘Walk & Talk’ (Remixes) come on Visionquest in September 2026.

A1.
