Gudu Records continues a busy start to 2022 with Italian due Hiver\u2019s debut for the label – a high-definition EP that draws on classic electro and techno, following the group\u2019s acclaimed past releases for Curle Recordings, Bokhari and Deeplabs.<\/p>\n
A record that both marks and celebrates Hiver\u2019s 10 years of operation, \u2018Wave Sliding\u2019 wears its influences on its sleeve: lead track \u2018The Initiative\u2019 is a \u201ctribute to Detroit\u2019s Hi-Tech Funk of the early 2000s\u201d, lead by the sort of ostinato bassline and legato strings that have become Hiver\u2019s trademark. \u2018Vapour\u2019 and \u2018Entangle\u2019 continue the EP\u2019s retro-futurist outlook, drawing on sci-fi imagery and themes of travel, while \u2018Stateless\u2019 looks to the \u201ceasy-trance\u201d sounds of 90s dancefloors for inspiration.
