The fifth release from Noha\u2019s PanickPanick! label comes at us from the label head himself. The Europa EP has already won heavy support from a slew of house and techno\u2019s biggest names already, putting the lead track in heavy rotation in recent sets. \u201cOriginally\u201d, says Noha, \u201cI wanted to keep \u2018Europa\u2019 as a secret DJ weapon. The idea behind the name of the track is that it depicts my home, Europe. I keep on travelling and moving, without really feeling Italian or belonging to any particular culture\u201d. Now firmly based in Berlin (where he\u2019s recently become a part of the Anonymous Souls collective alongside other local-based talents such as Per Hammar, S.A.M and Matthew Dekay), \u2018Europa\u2019 is a truly exceptional slide of dramatic house music – and an undisputedly catchy jam that\u2019s been tailor made with blissful dancefloor moment in mind.<\/p>\n
The B side gets underway thanks to \u2018Margaret\u2019. More spiky and attitude-heavy than its prdecessor, it\u2019s full of gnarly, stifling sounds, all of which prove a quite brilliant foil to the track\u2019s inspired vocal flourish. A virtuoso example of how to combine contrasting elements with serious efficiency, \u2018Margaret\u2019 is another track Noha has been playing in recent sets. \u201cThis one is dedicated to my sister\u201d, he says, \u201cwhose name is actually Margherita\u201d, says Noha. \u201cHence the delicate elements that makes the track so dreamy\u201d.<\/p>\n
The concluding track is arguably the catchiest of the lot. Again, it sees Noha adopt an unconventional guise, with this one almost Perlon-esque in its penchant for the unlikely.
