Oktober sein zweites Soloalbum beim Londoner Label Erased Tapes ver\u00f6ffentlichen. Das neue Album mit dem Titel \u201eChannels\u201c folgt auf das Solo-Deb\u00fct \u201eEternal Something\u201c des in London und Berlin ans\u00e4ssigen Produzenten aus dem Jahr 2017. Die LP mit sieben Titeln ist Brandts bislang bedeutendstes Werk. Der spannende avantgardistische Rahmen des Albums verwebt akkordbasierten Techno, orchestrale Einlagen, reichhaltige elektronische Texturen und Ankl\u00e4nge an d\u00fcsteren, cineastischen Pop miteinander. Ankn\u00fcpfend an \u201eEternal Something\u201c, das eine kontemplative Art des Isolationismus einfing, machte sich Brandt mit \u201eChannels\u201c daran, ein Album zu schaffen, das die Essenz des Minimalismus einf\u00e4ngt und sie gleichzeitig in einen verspielteren Kontext stellt. Nachdem er Steve Reichs \u201eSix Pianos\u201c in einer sechsk\u00f6pfigen Besetzung aufgef\u00fchrt und aufgenommen hatte, begann Brandt regelm\u00e4\u00dfig lange Meditationen am Klavier zu komponieren \u2013 etwas, das den Klang des neuen Albums durchdringt. Die frenetische Energie und die wandelbare Identit\u00e4t des Albums entstanden zudem durch die Tourneen mit seiner neuen Band \u201eEternal Something\u201c \u2013 bestehend aus Brandt am Klavier, Schlagzeug und Synthesizern, Pascal Bideau an Gitarre und Bass sowie Florian Juncker an der Posaune \u2013 und aus dem Wunsch, sowohl den Klang als auch die spirituelle Einheit ihrer Live-Auftritte zu \u00fcbertragen, bei denen die Musiker im Einklang eine faszinierende Verschmelzung weitl\u00e4ufiger Werke schufen.
