Born in Ohio in 1961, Owens worked extensively with Larry Heard in the mid-1980s and formed Fingers Inc. with Ron Wilson.
One of his best-known features, Tears, was with Frankie Knuckles and Satoshi Tomiie.
His debut solo album, Rhythms In Me, was released in 1990.
