On this latest stamped, white-label missive, Glaswegian analogue fiends General Ludd has switched the loving arms of New York’s Mister Saturday Night for hometown giants Rub-A-Dub. RAD-LUDD 1 delivers a quartet of energetic, jammed-out machine workouts, from the Syclops-influenced stomp of “Fourth Wall” and intense, tribal jack of “Run, Don’t Play Dead”, to the loose-limbed, jazz-goes-jack vibes of “Open Back Of The Meat Van”. Best of all, though, is “Cunninghame Shame”, a delicious fusion number that boasts throbbing sub-bass, metallic synth stabs, bouncy pianos and Dego style broken beats. That’s what it sounds like to us, at least; it’s deliciously difficult to pin down.
