Pancrace ensemble explores the sonic possibilities of a C.18th Silbermann pipe organ, known for its “human voice” stop, intertwined with Uillean pipes, baroque violin, electronics, and more. The sessions in a Protestant church unlocked new dimensions of vocal exploration, crafting an investigation into voice articulation reminiscent of von Kempelen’s speaking machine. Emphasizing human voice and air constraints, this album opens the door to a sonorous journey defying conventional genres.
