The Price Of Spirit
Omid’s parents were Iranian but he spent his childhood in Putney, London. He grew up listening to rock music like Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, and the Cure. After hearing hardcore records on pirate stations, he began making his own tracks. In 1995, Omid released early house and techno singles on his Alola and Disclosure labels as 16B and Phaser. These attracted big-name DJs, leading to a debut album on Eye Q in 1998. Though initially a producer, Omid moved into DJing, leading to a 2010 mix CD with the SOS collective at Ministry of Sound.
