Revisiting a track from Esteban Adame‚ s excellent ‚ Day Labor‚ album released last summer.¬† The ‚ Rise & Shine EP‚ features a vinyl edit of the original as well as two new mixes by Esteban ‚Äì the Beat Mix and Frequencia Decon Mix.¬† But making this release even more special are the rare remixes from Detroit‚ s unparalleled squadron, Underground Resistance.
‚ Rise & Shine‚ was the shimmering and ethereal introduction on Esteban‚ s ‚ Day Labor‚ album, but for the EP we open with a Beat Mix that layers these elements over a tough bass and some raw beats to take it to the dancefloor.
The beautiful Underground Resistance Remix follows.¬† It‚ s deep and soulful with the addition of some classic UR strings, delivering everything you‚ d expect from this influential crew.
The third track (or flip-side on the vinyl version) starts with a shorter vinyl edit before Mark Flash of UR takes over, lending the original a tough house groove that delivers plenty of raw funk into the bargain.
